The house was conceived as a collection of minor rooms around an open courtyard-like room in which the family gather. This large room is roofed by a steel frame structure which extends over a large terrace in the form of a pergola. The scale of the house has been mediated to appear as a two storey structure on a solid base integrated with the site.
