Hunters Hill is a leafy Peninsula distinctly bordered by the Parramatta River to the south, Lane Cove River to the north and Sydney Harbour to the east. Whilst it is conveniently located only nine kilometres from the Sydney CBD, its unique position has seen it avoid the trap of major urban development.
Hunters Hill is steeped in history and heritage, and was declared a Conservation Area by the National Trust of Australia in 1978. One of the original homes built in 1835, "Woodstock", still stands to this day. Remaining largely isolated for most of the early 1800's, a regular ferry service and the opening of the Iron Cove, Gladesville and Fig Tree Bridges in the 1880's, helped open the area up for residential development.
