INTRODUCTION
Italy DePadova began its activity by opening a shop on via Montenapoleone in Milan, offering Danish furniture as an exclusive importer for Italy.
In 1958 with the foundation of ICF, DePadova began production under license of the very prestigious furniture of Hermann Miller, created by designers like Charles and Ray Eames, George Nelson and Francois Girard; introducing a different way of organising and creating an image for offices and public spaces.
Toward the end of the 1960s the firm began production under license of a wall-to-wall wardrobe unit that was to become the symbol of a new way of furnishing the workplace and the home.
In 1984 Maddelena DePadova discovered Shaker furniture, introducing it in Europe. The furniture of this American religious sect that flourished in the 1800s features a very rigorous design, and was very influential for contemporary design.
In 1985 the initiative was launched for a trademark that was later to become e Edizioni DePadova, for the production of a unique, stimulating collection. The collection includes objects designed by talents like Achille Castiglioni, Vico Magistretti, Dieter Rams, Thomas Sandell, Denis Santachiara and Marco Zanuso junior.
Anyone who sees the collection today can perceive the fact that it is composed of objects that bear a relation to one another.
Together, they offer a true proposal for a way of living, a way of life
